What you will learn
- Explain what Google means by helpful, people-first content and E-E-A-T
- Structure an article so key answers are easy to find and quote
- Add trust signals such as author details, sources, and structured data
Search is no longer just a list of links. Google shows AI Overviews for many queries, and people also ask chat assistants for recommendations. These systems summarise content from pages they trust. The same habits help in both places: write for real people, answer questions directly, and show genuine experience. Google's quality guidelines describe this as E-E-A-T: experience, expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness.
Structure makes content easy to quote. Use a clear question as a heading, then answer it in the first one or two sentences before adding detail. Use short paragraphs, numbered steps, and simple tables for comparisons. Include specific facts a reader cannot get elsewhere, such as your own prices, process, or local knowledge. Vague, padded articles written only to fit keywords are rarely chosen as a source.
Show who is behind the content. Add an author or business name, a short note on their experience, and the date the page was last updated. Link to reliable sources for any facts. Structured data, such as Organization, LocalBusiness, or Article markup, helps search engines understand the page. Finally, group related articles around a main pillar page so the site builds clear topical authority.
