What you will learn
- Define three to five content pillars for a brand
- Build a monthly content calendar with formats, captions, and dates
- Review engagement to improve the next month's plan
Organic content is what a business posts without paying to promote it. It builds trust, gives people a reason to follow, and makes paid ads more convincing when people check the profile. Start with content pillars: three to five themes the brand will post about repeatedly. A home bakery might use behind-the-scenes baking, customer celebrations, new flavours, ordering information, and simple baking tips.
Turn the pillars into a calendar. A spreadsheet works well, with columns for date, platform, pillar, format (Reel, carousel, Story, or single image), the idea, the caption, and status. Choose a rhythm the business can keep, such as three feed posts and several Stories a week, rather than an ambitious plan that stops after a fortnight. Plan around local moments like Ramadan, Eid, Independence Day, and wedding season.
Make content easy to produce by batching: film several short clips in one session and write a week of captions at once. Reuse customer photos and reviews, with permission, as user-generated content. At the end of each month, look at reach, saves, shares, comments, and messages for each pillar. Do more of what earns real conversations and quietly drop what does not.
