- Produce a set of simple ad variations using Canva or a phone camera
On social media, creative does much of the targeting work, because it decides who stops scrolling. The main formats are single image, video, and carousel. Use a 4:5 or 1:1 image for feeds and full-screen 9:16 for Stories and Reels, keeping text and logos away from the top and bottom edges where buttons and captions appear. Upload each size rather than letting one image be cropped badly.
Video ads should grab attention in the first two or three seconds: show the product, the result, or the problem straight away rather than a slow logo intro. Many people watch with the sound off, so add captions or on-screen text. Simple, authentic footage filmed on a phone often works as well as polished production, especially for local businesses, food, fashion, and services.
Ad copy has three jobs: hook, benefit, and action. Open with a line that speaks to the audience's need, such as "Planning a mehndi this winter?". Then give one clear benefit or offer, and finish with what to do next, for example "Tap Send Message to see packages on WhatsApp". Keep the primary text short, since only the first line or two shows before "See more".
