Core Web Vitals

Core Web Vitals are Google's three measures of real user experience: loading (LCP), responsiveness (INP), and visual stability (CLS).

What Core Web Vitals means

Google measures them from real Chrome users and reports them in Search Console and PageSpeed Insights. A page passes when at least 75% of visits meet each threshold.

The current thresholds are LCP within 2.5 seconds, INP within 200 milliseconds, and CLS of 0.1 or less.

Example

An online store compresses its hero images and removes an unused script. Its LCP drops from 4.1 to 2.2 seconds and the page now passes.

Why it matters

They are part of Google's page experience signals, and faster pages consistently convert better, so they affect revenue as well as rankings.
