Anchor text is the clickable words in a link. It tells readers and search engines what the linked page is about.
Descriptive anchor text such as "our web development course" is more useful than "click here", for people using screen readers as much as for search engines.
For links from other sites, a natural mix matters: brand names, plain URLs, and descriptive phrases. Too many identical keyword-rich anchors can look manipulated.

A blog post links to a pricing guide using the words "how much a website costs in Pakistan" rather than "read more".
