A/B testingSplit testing

A/B testing compares two versions of an ad, email, or page by showing each to part of your audience and measuring which performs better.

What A/B testing means

Version A is the current one and version B changes one thing, such as a headline, image, or button. Traffic is split between them and the results are compared once enough people have seen both.

Testing one change at a time shows what caused the difference. Changing several things at once tells you which version won, but not why.

Example

A landing page tests the button label "Book a Free Call" against "Get a Quote". After 3,000 visits, the first converts noticeably better and becomes the default.

Why it matters

Testing replaces opinion with evidence, so improvements to ads and pages add up over time instead of being guesses.
