Meta Pixel

The Meta Pixel is a piece of code on your website that reports visits and actions back to Meta, for measuring and targeting Facebook and Instagram ads.

What Meta Pixel means

It records events such as page views, adds to cart, and leads. Meta uses them to report results, build retargeting audiences, and optimise delivery.

Browser privacy limits mean many advertisers pair the Pixel with Meta's Conversions API, which sends events directly from the server for better accuracy.

Example

With the Pixel installed, a store retargets everyone who viewed a product in the last 14 days and sees which ads led to purchases.

Why it matters

Meta ads without the Pixel are running blind: no reliable results, no retargeting, and weaker optimisation.
