What you will learn
- Set up a Next.js project with Tailwind, Git and GitHub from the start
- Build shared components and the layout before individual pages
- Add content, forms and interactive features in small, committed steps
Set up the foundations first. Create a Next.js project with Tailwind, push it to a new GitHub repository and deploy it straight away, even when it is almost empty. Deploying early means any hosting problems appear at the start, not the night before launch. Add your theme colours and fonts, then build the root layout with the header, navigation and footer.
Next, build the shared components from your design list: buttons, cards and section headings. Then create each page from your sitemap, mobile layout first, filling it with your real content. Keep data such as services or products in a separate file as an array of objects, and render it with map, so updating content later does not mean editing layout code.
Add interactive and back-end features last, once the pages exist: the mobile menu, a search or filter, and the contact form with server-side validation. Work on a branch for each feature, commit small working steps with clear messages, and merge into main when it works. Check the site in the browser after each step rather than building everything and testing at the end.
